High-end Victorian Style in Bedford
A prominent TV executive acquired some land locally with a view to building a large Victorian-style luxury family home. Located on a hill at the edge of town, the plot has stunning views over local countryside in one direction, and looks out over the town in the other. The brief was to maximise these views while fitting in seamlessly with the Victorian-style architecture of the build. Enhanced security was also a key requirement, in line with both building regulations and the client’s wishes.
The blend of traditional style and modern performance made Ultimate Rose the obvious choice, offering a mix of single and combination windows that would be identical in appearance to traditional Victorian sash windows, with ultra-slim sightlines, putty-line finishing details, flush run-through sash horns and period deep bottom rails. At the same time, they would meet and exceed new build regulations, by offering the PAS24 compliance required by Part Q, plus A-rated energy efficiency and concealed trickle ventilation. This project is a great example of traditional architecture and window styles in a modern setting, seamlessly blending old and new.
