The History of the Rose Collection
Nearly 50 years ago, in 1977, we established Roseview in Olney’s pretty Buckinghamshire market town. Although our location has been the same since the start, everything else has been evolving here at Roseview.
In 1985, we took a bold move and became the first ever company to manufacture uPVC sash windows as an alternative to timber. This move made us market leaders as a sliding sash window manufacturer! Since then, we have been expanding to keep up with the increasing demand for our stunning windows and premium customer service. We opened four factories and hired 100s of expert team members.
At the beginning of our journey, our customer base was only companies in the window trade. Today, we are proud to say that we also manufacture for developers, self-builders, architects, specifiers, vetted Approved Installers and hundreds of trade customers across the nation. So whether you need to install sash windows or direct to fit yourself, you can rest assured that you can always come to Rose Collection!
Over the decades, we really have seen everything when it comes to building sash windows. So, the same level of reputation and expertise in design, manufacturing and installation cannot be found anywhere else.
It’s All About Innovation
Because we are based in a traditional market, it could be tempting to think we are a traditional company. But that’s one thing we can never be! It is really important for us here at Roseview that we are redefining traditions and pushing the market forward as leaders. So we can give you the finest and latest products!
Not long after making our bold move to manufacture uPVC sash windows in 1985, we stopped making other windows and doors. We wanted to focus on sashes solely so that we could extend our range and cover the needs of an evolving market. And that’s what we have been doing so far!
We went all out to receive our Secured by Design accreditation. Unlike other companies who chose the easy way, we tested much larger sample windows – 1400 x 2000mmm – that could be used in the real world. And then we watched others following our steps! But that’s not all.
In 2010, we went all out again to design our own sash with mechanical joints and run-through horns. Because we wanted a higher level of authenticity and standard from timber-alternative sash windows available in the systems market. So, we innovated and created a new system that enabled us to replicate timber joinery methods using multi-chambered uPVC profiles.
The result is; authentic sash windows with horizontal (on the frame) and vertical (on the sash) butt joints and much stronger mechanical joints compared to standard welded versions. And, of course, market-leading performance and timber authenticity, which is our core standard at Rose Collection.
Never Settling for Average Standards
Our secret for creating timber-alternative sash windows indistinguishable from traditional designs is manufacturing with excellence. Although it is a fairly complicated process to achieve both high performance and an aesthetically pleasing design, there is nothing we cannot do! It combines our imagination, attention to detail and expertise with investments in state-of-the-art technology and high-end engineering.
In the first half of our factory, we prepare our profiles. They are cut and milled with accuracy, in which high-tech engineering plays a big part. In the second half, our sash windows are completed and assembled. During this stage, we rely heavily on our attention to detail skills and hand crafted finishing instead of technology.
Although it sounds easier said than done, we put everything we have into creating the best yet available sash windows for our valuable customers. After all, if it were that easy, we would not be market leaders!
